Zachary Kaiser explores the harmful social consequences of this idea - balanced against speed and ease for the user - and how design practice and education can respond positively. Our role as user-experience (UX) designers on the project originated from a much simpler request from the client about branding the visual experience of the platform itself. When we suggested that it was not in the client’s best interest to separate the structure of the product and the “visual design,” the client began to involve us in discussions about the overall UX.
