Варвара Григорьевна Малахиева-Мирович (1869, Киев - 1954, Москва) - автор почти четырех тысяч стихотворений. Первые ее сохранившиеся стихи датируются 1883-м годом, последние написаны за год до смерти. Подруга Льва Шестова и Елены Гуро, Даниила Андреева и Игоря Ильинского, переводчица Бернарда Шоу и «Многообразия религиозной жизни» Уильяма Джеймса, Малахиева-Мирович - старейший автор неофициальной литературы, оставшийся до конца дней верным символизму, но открывший внутри символистской системы возможности иронически отстраненного реалистического письма.
Основу издания составил свод избранных стихотворений поэта, никогда не появлявшихся в печати, а также единственная изданная при жизни книга стихотворений «Монастырское» (1923) и немногочисленные прижизненные публикации.
