I was pretty late into the 3D printing scene getting my first printer in early 2018. I bought it for work to demonstrate how 3D printing could help reduce design times through rapid prototyping. The job required high quality parts made for the automotive sector so whatever it did it had to do it well. I’ve always had a seriously high requirement for quality in anything I do so I knew that I’d need to do some modifications to the printer before I was going to be happy with the results.
The first prints that came out were awful so off I set to the Internet to find out as much as I could about improving print quality. Fast forward a couple of weeks and I had steadily improved whatever was coming off the printer. It took me hours and hours pouring across websites and forums across the Internet to start to make sense of the 3D printer, its terms, technology and changes I needed to make to start the improvements.
I hope that I’ve managed to cover as much of this as possible in this guide without going into too much detail. I’m always keen to keep this up to date and try new things in the pursuit of the perfect print so please do get in contact if you have any feedback or suggestions.
