Both established and bold new architects use innovative roofs as a means of expression and function of the structure of buildings. Far from being limited to providing protection from the weather, roofs are open to many interpretations such as acting as a filter for light. Like a fifth skin, they are conjugated even with facades to form an unusual binomial.
