There is little to dispute about the facts of the Holocaust. Between 1933 and 1945 approximately fifteen million people, six million of whom were Jews, were murdered by the Nazi government. The vast majority of these killings were carried out after 1941 by the Schutzstaffel (Protective Echelon, or SS), an elite, ideologically committed, and racially pure political/military arm of the Nazi regime. Acting under orders from Heinrich Himmler, who was certainly acting with the knowledge and support of Adolf Hitler, the SS combed occupied Europe for Jews, transported them to killing centers, and executed them en masse.
This volume suggests to debate the topics as: "Did German Jews have sufficient warning of the Holocaust to flee Germany prior to 1941 had they chosen to do so?"; "Did the Holocaust have its origins in the Social Darwinism of the nineteenth century?"; "Was the Holocaust shaped by modem theories of power?" and so on.
