England is not only the birthplace of the tank, but also the armored car.
The world's first armored car - Motor War Sag, designed by the English inventor Frederick Simms, was demonstrated in London on April 4, 1902. This show had a great response and aroused the interest of the press, but not the military. Like other countries that built and tested experimental samples of armored combat vehicles at the beginning of the 20th century (Austria-Hungary, France, Russia, Germany and Italy), Great Britain entered World War I without having a single armored car in its army.
The British started their construction only in 1914 and a year later they were able to form and equip 15 squadrons with combat vehicles. Such a rapid pace of deployment of armored car parts contributed to the high level of development of the British automotive industry. Unlike tanks in the course of the battles of the First World War, English armored cars did not particularly distinguish themselves.
In this book, we will look at the main models of British armored vehicles that took part in the First World War.
