The DH5 with its back-staggered wings was a departure from standard biplane designs in early WWI and was a poor fighter,but in the ground attack role it really excelled and pilots began to appreciate its unique qualities. Jack Bruce has the whole story and backs it up with over 60 photos from his personal collection; a dozen close-up detail images and two pages of 1917 official handbook airframe sketches. The book also provides 1:48 and 1:72 scale drawings and detailed colour notes supported by three profiles by Ray Rimell on the rear cover.
