Modern scientists have a great interest in practical applications of the fuzzy sets and fuzzy logic theory in different fields: business process management, medicine, transportation, engineering, economics, etc. Fuzzy sets and fuzzy logic are used for the decision making tasks in uncertainty, in particular, for vehicle routing problem, evaluation of education processes, medical diagnostics and forecasting epidemic situations, improving efficiency of investment in uncertainty, business management and financial analysis, robotics and critical engineering technologies, transport logistics and others. To solve the abovementioned problems, it is necessary to fulfill the fuzzy arithmetic operations with corresponding fuzzy sets, including such soft computing operations as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

This book gathers authoritative contributions in the field of Soft Computing. Based on selected papers presented at the 7th World Conference on Soft Computing, which was held on May 29–31, 2018, in Baku, Azerbaijan, it describes new theoretical advances, as well as cutting-edge methods and applications.
