This book has all the code in it needed to create RDLC Reports dynamically. There is a lot of information on how this code came about and with some cooperation from the reader, can be added to a project so that in less than a day, you will be able to create table style RDLC Reports that require none of the usual manual adjustments to the field widths - which I personally, found taking more time to do than creating the report itself.
Included in this book is code to create RDLC Reports from event logs and from the registry. Imagine being able to perusal through the registry, find a subkey with valuable Names. types and data, right click on the DataGridView and press the button and one second later, your report is created and being displayed right in front of you with perfect widths between fields.
That's kind of addicting.
What you will learn to do:
The purpose of this book is to explain at every step of the way how to go from a list of WMI Namespaces, categories, and classes to a dynamically created rdlc report using Visual Studio 2019. You will learn how to convert the properties of the selected WMI Class into XML, how to format the information so that both horizontal and vertical views can be created, why a DataGridView is used to automatically adjust the field widths for you and what needs to be done with the rdlc file so that the entire process not only works but can produce over 450 reports – perfectly aligned and usable within minutes after reading this book. The best part of reading this book is the fact that you will be able to automate the updates to the predefined rdlc files without having to redo each report every time the information changes.
