This book contains screen shots and source code for Railway Ticket Reservation project developed in Visual Basic.Net. The database created in MS-Access is used as back-end to store data. The front page form is the home page (main menu) of the project. It contains buttons which are clicked by user to move to other forms.
The station details form is used to add, edit, delete and navigate station details. The station details includes station code and station name.
The train details form is used to add, edit, delete and navigate train details. The train details includes train no, train name and journey details.
The coach details form is used to add, edit, delete and navigate coach details. The coach details includes train no, coach no, total seats and coach type details.
The journey details form is used to add, edit, delete and navigate journey details. The journey details includes train no, station serial no, station code and kilometer details.
The start reservation form is used to initiate reservation process for a particular train in a particular date. The train no and journey date are provided to initiate reservation process.
The reservation form is used to do reserve tickets for passengers. The train no, journey date, journey from station, journey to station, class, no. of adult passengers and no. of child passengers are given as input. It finds the availability of seats for above information. If seats are available as free, the the seats are reserved by getting the information about passengers. After the seats are reserved, it will display the ticket number, coach number and seat numbers reserved for the passengers.
The reservation form is used to do reserve tickets for passengers.
The cancel ticket form is used to cancel reserved tickets.
