This book, entitled Computational Intelligence of Blockchain Systems, emphasizes concepts of Computational Intelligence (CI) and blockchain-based applications. It also presents a detailed discussion on the incorporation of blockchain technology and Computational Intelligence in implementing smart real-time applications. Computational Intelligence comes under computer science umbrella which under pins a separate research area named as Artificial Intelligence (AI) where Computational Intelligence is a subbranch of it. Now-a-days, many researches are been carried out in this area mixing up with other technologies like CI is mixed up with biological sciences, Data science with mathematics and Artificial Intelligence is mixed up with cyber security focusing on blockchain technology. Many researchers are interested to carry out their work with BCT and developing a new system that can solve more complex security issues. It is important to state at this point that the definition defined for understanding computational intelligence is in the view of author which will lead to more debates. For instances, many researchers believe that Swarm Intelligence (SI) and Artificial Immune System (AIS) are two different areas which categorised under AI.
In this book the author considers five pillar paradigms of computational intelligence and are classified as follows:
1. Artificial Neural Networks (ANN)
2. Evolutionary Component (EC)
3. Artificial Immune System (AIS)
4. Fuzzy System (FS)
5. Swarm Intelligence (SI)
Computational Intelligence is now widely recognized as a set of inventions with key characteristics for use in a variety of real-world applications. This chapter provides an overview of Computational Intelligence approaches and related concepts such as fuzzy sets and artificial neural networks (ANN). With regard to Computational Intelligence, the relevant algorithms are also discussed. This chapter serves as a literature review and discussion for researchers and students to solve various contemporary problems in Computational Intelligence which is one of the most difficult areas of study in Computer Science.
