This book seamlessly connects the topics of Industry 4.0 and cyber security. It discusses the risks and solutions of using cyber security techniques for Industry 4.0.
Cyber Security and Operations Management for Industry 4.0 covers the cyber security risks involved in the integration of Industry 4.0 into businesses and highlights the issues and solutions. The book offers the latest theoretical and practical research in the management of cyber security issues common in Industry 4.0 and also discusses the ethical and legal perspectives of incorporating cyber security techniques and applications into the day-to-day functions of an organization. Industrial management topics related to smart factories, operations research, and value chains are also discussed.
Using Internet services for both personnel and industry needs is unavoidable in the modern era as these services have transformed the world into a “global village.” To offer and ensure security while availing these services has become a very tedious and most challenging task for academicians, researchers, and industrial experts. Over a decade, the size and scale of cyber attacks have seen exponential growth due to a number of factors including the growing trend of adopting digital infrastructure in industries and challenges in employing an adequate cyber security workforce. In the twenty- first century, cyber security faces serious economic and national security challenges in protecting critical infrastructures of government and industry, and the public from being attacked and from unauthorized access. Cyber attacks can possibly be seen as a modern digital war where physical weapons are not required, yet it is most dangerous as it exposes the information of individuals, business organizations, and a nation to disrupt their critical operations and functionalities in their domain.
Deep Learning method’s role in delivering privacy- and security- related services across various industries has become a hot topic in recent years as the business, governmental, and individual users believe that deep learning will protect their physical and logical resources from attackers with less damage or access. In deep learning, an attack could either take place during the training or testing phase of a network model. A Deep Learning network under attack would result in false predictions as an attacker injects wrong samples (white- box attacks), whereas black box attacks cause the system to make fake predictions. Hence, an attack in Deep Learning exploits the predictive confidence of the system by not letting it collect the structure and parameters of the system.
This book is ideal for industry professionals, researchers, and those in academia who are interested in learning more about how cyber security and Industry 4.0 are related and can work together.
