This book provides readers to the vision of Society 5.0, which was originally proposed in the fifth Basic Science and Technology Plan by Japan’s government for a technology-based, human-centered society, emerging from the fourth industrial revolution (Industry 4.0). The implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other modern techniques in a smart society requires automated data scheduling and analysis using smart applications, a smart infrastructure, smart systems, and a smart network.
According to Keidanren, Society 5.0 is a future society where the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), robots, sensors, and other innovative technologies will play a lead role not only to optimize the needs of individuals but also the society as a whole. The AI-related technologies may be useful for supporting human interaction with other agents. Optimal results are obtained by various approaches and algorithms, including AI, which exceed far beyond the capabilities of humans, and these results are fed back to the physical space. This process brings new values to business and society in ways not previously possible. The implementation of AI in a smart society, in which the analysis of human habits is mandatory, requires automated data scheduling and analysis using smart applications, a smart infrastructure, smart systems, and a smart network. The proposed book provides readers to the vision on upcoming cities, facilities, and metropolitan lives in connection with Society 5.0, which was originally proposed in the fifth Basic Science and Technology Plan by Japan’s government for a technology-based, human-centered society, emerging from the fourth industrial revolution (Industry 4.0). The AI has the ability to predict and automate the pre-defined sets of tasks using, and in some cases generating data, over a specific task. In smart society, a dedicated method is required to manage and extract the massive amount of data and the related data mining techniques. The methods and approached used provide near-zero-failure advanced diagnostics for smart management, which is exploitable in any context of Society 5.0, thus reducing the risk factors at all management levels and ensuring quality and sustainability.
In Society 5.0, several systems are interconnected with each other through Internet for knowledge and information sharing with each other. Thus, technically Society 5.0 can be defined as a system of system (SoS) where systems are connected to each other to form a large network-based system. The use of IoT, AI, sensors, GNSS, robotics and blockchain and geospatial data will transform the society through digital data revolution. Abilities of individual people can be learnt by the use of AI. The AI, the cloud, Big Data, blockchain and IoT are the important technologies of Society 5.0. The analysis of Big data through AI increases the efficiency, estimates more accurate demand and creates more accurate business plans. The Big Data can be stored in the cloud system and used for analysis. The advantage of using the cloud system is that it can be used by various firms through the internet and IoT. Interlinking physical systems and cyber systems, the Cyber Physical Space (CPS) provides linkage between humans and machine and among the machines through IoT sensors, smart phones and other devices.
This book comprises four different parts and provide detailed description of various components and pillars of Society 5.0. It would highlight the current challenging issues and their solutions by utilizing of AI, IoT, and cloud tools and techniques for smart society, such as Industry 4.0, digital innovations, emergency departments, intelligent traffic systems (ITS), visual surveillance, automotive industry, environmental monitoring, mobility, smart infrastructure, smart health care system, smart security and surveillance system, smart energy motion-based object detection and tracking for real-time applications, cybersecurity, Fintech, and many more. In summary, this book seeks to be a contribution to a more informed society, shaped by the digital data in the social dynamics.
