This book addresses the security challenges facing the rapidly growing Internet of Things (IoT) industry, including the potential threats and risks arising from its complex architecture.
The authors discuss the overall IoT architecture, covering networking, computing, and security threats and risks to hardware such as sensors, actuators, and portable devices, as well as infrastructure layers. They cover a range of technical concepts such as cryptography, distributed storage, and data transmission, and offer practical advice on implementing security solutions such as authentication and access control.
By exploring the future of cybersecurity in the IoT industry, with insights into the importance of big data and the threats posed by data mining techniques, this book is an essential resource for anyone interested in, or working in, the rapidly evolving field of IoT security.
The main content in this book is formed by four parts. The first part provides learners with basic information about cybersecurity in mobile computing from three perspectives, including basic concepts, fundamental cyber issues in mobile computing, and relevant knowledge about the Internet-of-Things (IoT) and cloud computing. The next part, Part II, further pictures the significant cybersecurity issues. Three dimensions involved in this part include privacy categorizations, security matters in Cyber-Physical System (CPS) and mobile cloud systems, and network threat models. Next, Part III addresses the advanced security techniques and shows a few solutions to major threats/issues referred to in the precedent chapters. This part is the main body of this book. A number of crucial aspects include cryptography techniques, intrusion detections, infrastructure and hardware security, and distributed data storage protections. Finally, Part IV introduces a few emerging cybersecurity technologies in mobile computing. This book also offers some supplementary documents for educators in appendices, such as project and test samples.
Furthermore, this book may attract distinct groups of people who are interested in the domain of mobile cybersecurity. The book encompasses fundamental knowledge and state-of-the-art techniques, such that this book may engage the attention of beginner learners and senior researchers. For instance, the wireless security component will introduce a novel data encryption strategy technique. Additionally, the design of this textbook follows constructivism, which facilitates readers to construct their knowledge scaffold. Studying chapters in this book can aid readers in completing a learning-for-use or a learning-for-research process. Both theoretical content and hands-on experiences will be offered to readers.
