Overview of the end-to-end process of planning, undertaking, and reporting of forensic radio surveying to support cell site analysis. The newly updated and revised Second Edition of Forensic Radio Survey Techniques for Cell Site Analysis provides an overview of the end-to-end process of planning, undertaking, and reporting of forensic radio surveying to support the forensic discipline of cell site analysis. It starts by recapping and explaining, in an accessible way, the theory, structure, and operation of cellular communications networks, then moves on to describe the techniques and devices employed to undertake forensic radio surveys. Worked examples are used throughout to demonstrate the practical steps required to plan and undertake forensic radio surveys, including the methods used to analyze radio survey data and compile it into a court report. A summary section condenses the technical and practical elements of the book into a handy reference resource for busy practitioners. The Second Edition contains 25% brand new material covering 5G New Radio networks and '6G and beyond,' critical communications, mobile satellite communications, IoT networks, Cell Site Analysis Tools, and much more.

This book is an essential guide to IPv6 network slicing. It covers both the fundamentals and cutting-edge technologies of IPv6 network slicing, and provides insights into future industry developments. IP network slicing is an architectural innovation that provides multiple dedicated logical networks on a shared physical network. It comprises a complete set of solutions designed to meet the differentiated service requirements of the 5G and cloud era. This book focuses on IP network slicing based on the data plane of IPv6, a second-generation network layer protocol standard designed to address many of the problems encountered with IPv4. The book explores the technical implementation of IPv6 network slicing by introducing its architecture, implementation solutions, resource partitioning technologies, data plane technologies, and control plane technologies. The development of 5G gave rise to the emergence of network slicing, which was initially applied to 5G mobile transport networks and then extended to support fixed and enterprise services. Today, it can also be applied to IP metro and backbone networks. Currently, IP network slicing, which plays an important role in supporting the 2B services of carriers, is being widely applied and deployed. In terms of realizing the IP‑based Service‑Level Agreement (SLA) guarantee, IP network slicing can be considered a significant leap forward. Initially, IP networks used Quality of Service (QoS) technologies such as DiffServ to guarantee service quality on single devices. Later, Traffic Engineering (TE) technologies such as Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) TE were developed to provide service quality guarantee through TE paths. Now, IP network slicing is introduced to guarantee service quality through network‑wide resource isolation. Moreover, compared with establishing physical private networks, deploying IP network slicing helps to significantly reduce costs. IPv6 plays a pivotal role in IP network slicing.

Mobile Crowdsensing (MCS) is emerging as a novel sensing paradigm in the Internet of Things (IoTs) due to the proliferation of smart devices (e.g., smartphones, wearable devices) in people’s daily lives. These ubiquitous devices enable the possibility of harnessing the wisdom of crowds by recruiting mobile users to collectively perform sensing tasks that largely collect data about a diverse range of human activities and the surrounding environment. However, users suffer from resource consumption like battery, computing power, and storage, which discourage users’ participation. To ensure a participation rate, it is necessary to employ an incentive mechanism to compensate users’ costs such that users are willing to take part in crowdsensing. Designing an appropriate incentive mechanism is nontrivial due to different practical challenges like modeling and computational hardness. Capturing the different roles’ utility maximization, game theory is widely used to address incentive mechanism design problems. While many existing papers study incentive mechanism in MCS, to the best of our knowledge, there is few books giving a comprehensive review of the incentive mechanism for MCS, especially from the game-theoretic perspective. This book aims to fill this void. The prerequisite for reading this book is a basic understanding of the mobile crowdsensing infrastructure, game theory, equilibrium analysis, and convex optimization.
