Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) serves to transfer power from a grid or storage unit to a device without the need for cable connections. This can be performed by induction, as well as by using radio or microwaves. The technology is already seeing widespread use; for example, for charging of cell phones and toothbrushes. R&D of WPT, especially inductive and resonance coupling WPT, has been active over recent years.
