Любительская oxoтa на грызунов имеет в виду прежде всего именно зайца и в значительно меньшей мере белку. Охота на прочих грызунов: на бурундука, хомяка, суслика - носит лишь истребительно-промысловый характер. Очерки об охоте на зайца и белку занимают большую половину книжки. Включенный в книжку очерк о бобре не имеет практического значения, поскольку охота на бобров повсеместно запрещена законом.
