Буколики, или идиллии—особый литературный жанр, воз­никший в Греции в III веке до н. э. Создателем его считается поэт Феокрит, продолжателями которого в Греции были Мосх и Бион, а в Риме Вергилий и другие позднейшие буколические поэты. В эпоху Возрождения буколическая поэзия с ее идеали­зацией сельской жизни воскресает в произведениях итальянских поэтов XVI века — Саннадзаро и Тассо в их «пасторалях» — «Аркадия» и «Аминта».
