During the last decade, soft robotics has seen an immense amount of growth due to its attractive characteristics, such as environmental adaptability, owing to the flexible structures employed, and operational safety for users, providing a promising human–machine interaction environment. To realize a soft robotic system, smart integration of several subsystems such as sensors, signal conditioning circuits, processors and software, actuators, and control and feedback mechanisms are needed.
