Powstanie Wielkich Moraw prezentuje szeroką panoramę wydarzeń politycznych i zjawisk kulturowych, które doprowadziły do ukształtowania się państwowości Morawian i chrystianizacji Moraw. Bardzo interesujące są np. uwagi Autora na temat tworzenia się plemion słowiańskich na zasiedlonych przez nich terenach, a także ukazanie ich kultury materialnej. Třeštík starał się też ukazać m.in. związki pomiędzy książętami i możnymi słowiańskimi, a arystokracją państw wschodnich Franków. W rezultacie książka Třeštíka ukazuje tworzenie się nowego kształtu politycznego i kulturalnego tej części Europy.
