This textbook bridges the gap between introductory and advanced numerical methods for engineering students. Next, the book covers the topics of interpolation, curve fitting and approximation, integration, differentiation and differential equations. During the pre-computer era, scientists and engineers generally use three different ways for solving mathematical problems: (i) analytical or exact methods, (ii) graphical technique, and (iii) manual calculations. As a result, a significant amount of energy is required on the solution technique rather than on problem definition and interpretation. Today, computational methods and digital computers provide an alternative for such complicated solutions. Computational methods use a number to simulate the mathematical processes, which in turn usually simulate real world situations.
