Отто Вейнингер (Otto Weininger, 1880-1903) - австрийский философ и психолог. Автор концепций биполярности и бисексуальности. Окончил Венский университет, в котором изучал философию, биологию, психологию, физику и математику (д-р философии, 1902). Испытал влияние философии Платона, И. Канта, Р. Авенариуса и др. Написал несколько работ по проблемам любви, пола и искусства (в том числе книгу "Генрик Ибсен и его драматическая поэма Пер Гюнт"), в которых рассматривал проблемы эротики, ненависти, любви, преступления и др. В 1903 г. опубликовал основную книгу "Пол и характер. Принципиальное исследование", в которой проанализировал значительную совокупность биологических, физиологических, психологических, сексуальных, социальных, нравственных, эстетических и других начал и характеристик мужчин и женщин. Изложил основы концепций биполярности и бисексуальности. Стимулировал сексологические исследования. Покончил жизнь самоубийством.
