Причина проста - в августе 1898 скончался Эдуард Гоппе, продолжатель дела своего брата - основателя "Всемирной иллюстрации" Германа Гоппе. Новых продолжателей как видно не нашлось и издание прекратило своё существование, не дотянув до конца года... Качество сканов посредственное, блёклый, местами трудночитаемый текст (все страницы иметь плохую контрастность), сильные геометрические искажения, как самого текста, так и иллюстраций (практически на 80% страниц). В первом томе отсутствует страницы (10 шт.): 9 (21), 10 (22), 63 (75), 64 (76), 148 (160) - 151 (163), 243 (255), 244 (266), 254 (266), 255 (267). Полностью отсутствуют обложки номеров. Размер PDF: 26,00 x 38,09 см., разрешение: 300 пкс./дюйм, средняя оценка качества по 10 бальной шкале - 5 баллов, печать возможна только после очень основательной подготовки.
